A Day in Meds

I take a lot of meds. A lot. And I take them several times a day. Doctors who don't know about my conditions are always eager to tell me that the goal is to get me off of these medications. They don't understand that where I am today is in large part because of the medications we use to treat my symptoms, since there are no medications FDA approved for these illnesses. I take medications to raise my blood pressure, to improve autonomic tone, to control mast cell activation syndrome, to deal with pain, to sleep, and to help with anxiety and depression. Needless to say, filling pill packs and keeping track of dosing is a challenge! I share this because I think that people without chronic illess aren't aware of what goes into maintaining whatever level of health we are able to achieve.

Tell me what you'd like to read about? What blog posts would you like to see from me?
Blessings,
Emily
